step by step
introduction
As a huge fan and player of Sea of Thieves and fan of this universe. I really want to create a new region with new mechanics, system and contents.

Here you can see my process for this project and at this end, you will have a powerpoint with the presentation of the project.
STEP 1 :
Analyse actual game
Before everything, I had to know precisely what players have in the game, what they love, what they don't love and what they want.
Recently the developpers add a volcanic region with... well... volcanos. So for the theme of the region, why not the opposite ?
A discussion with lot of players permited to me to learn players want more danger on the island, not just in the Sea so I want to work on this.
STEP 2 :
Creation of the region and system
Now I had to create the region and main danger in the Sea. I knew I wanted to create a Snow Region. So for me, the main danger in the see (with icerbergs but this a just frozen rocks) is the Blizzard.
For the Devil's Roar (the volcanic Region), the danger of the island affect the Sea, here the Blizzard affect both and he is not link to an island, he moves in all the region. So for the Island I wanted new threat, in link with the temperature, the cold.
So, the cold limit the moves & create a little mechanic. Because now, pirates has to anticipate their explorations and learn where on the island they can be safe. For help them I create the torch (a new tools) and campfires. The campfires are off on Snow Islands and can be turn on for a few time with the torch.
STEP 3 :
Creation of content
After all of this, I had to create the content for the progression of the players. So first, I create two new tools for help players. The first was the Torch, for help players to fight the Cold, the second was the Spears, for help with new threats on the island.
Before the creation of quests and event, I created three new AI threats on the Islands for challenge players. Wolves, Bears and the first "boss" on earth... the Yeti. During this step, I want to create a new weapon for new strategies during fights on the Sea. So I create burning cannonball. Those cannonballs create zone of fire, and players can turn off this fire with bucket of water !
The last step of this personnal project was the creation of quests, and the event for introduce the new region. First I create new type of quests, in link with snow for all existing factions (before Anniversary Update) and with this quest, new rewards with a special effect. And for finish I create the event who introduce to the players, week per week, the different mechanics and content of this expansion
